Description
Ceresit CT74 is a ready-mixed, pure silicone thin-coat render with a 1.5mm grain, giving a rubbed stone texture. It is the premium finish in the Ceresit range: highly hydrophobic so rain runs off rather than soaking in, but with V1 vapour permeability so a wall can still dry outwards. The BioProtect formula resists algae, mould and fungus, which is what keeps a north-facing elevation looking clean in a wet climate. Supplied in 25kg tubs and tinted to order in any Ceresit Colours of Nature shade.
Coverage
- Approximately 2.3-2.5kg/m² at 1.5mm grain
- Roughly 10-11m² per 25kg tub
- Allow around 5% extra for reveals, detailing and wastage
As a rough guide, a 60m² elevation needs 6 tubs. If you send us the elevation sizes we will do the take-off for you and make sure you are not left short mid-job.
Application
- Substrate must be clean, dry and primed. Use Ceresit CT16 primer in a matching shade
- Stir thoroughly with a low speed mixer. Do not add more than 1% water
- Apply with a stainless steel float to the thickness of the grain
- Texture with a plastic float in circular motions once it has taken up
- Work wet-on-wet across a full elevation without stopping, or you will see lap marks
- Protect from direct sun, rain and wind with scaffold sheeting while it dries
- In colder months a winter additive such as CT240 may be needed

Ordering colours
CT74 is tinted to order from the full Ceresit Colours of Nature palette. Two things worth knowing. Order the whole job in one go so every tub comes from the same batch — colour can vary slightly between batches and it will show across an elevation. And on very dark shades, Ceresit recommend limiting use to smaller areas and architectural detail rather than whole facades. If you are unsure, call us before ordering and we will talk it through.
