The UK rendering market is notoriously loyal to a handful of legacy brands, but loyalty does not always equal performance. Over the last few years, contractors and architects have begun quietly shifting their specifications away from the old guard. The reason is simple: modern site conditions demand materials that are highly workable, consistent from bag to bag, and capable of withstanding absolute misery when it comes to British weather.

That shift has brought VPI render firmly into the spotlight. For tradesmen looking for a reliable through-coloured monocouche, or homeowners researching the materials specified for their deep retrofit, VPI is rapidly becoming the benchmark. Out of the pump, VPI generally feels richer and creamier. It flows beautifully through both diesel and electric mechanised spray machines without segregating or clogging the stator tube. Where some older renders can feel a bit gritty or heavy on the trowel during the ruling off stage, VPI spreads with significantly less resistance, saving the applicator’s shoulders on large gable ends.

Hold and Slump Resistance
