Description
Jablite EWI 70HPE Plus is a grey graphite-enhanced EPS board made specifically for external wall insulation systems. At 0.030 W/mK it performs around 20% better than standard white EPS70, so you get to the same U-value with a thinner board — which matters on EWI, where every extra millimetre pushes out your reveals, sills and verges. Boards are 1200 x 600mm, bonded or mechanically fixed, and compatible with silicone, silicate and mineral render systems.
Thicknesses and R-values
All boards are 1200 x 600mm (0.72m² per board) with a lambda value of 0.030 W/mK.
| Thickness | R-value (m²K/W) |
|---|---|
| 20mm | 0.65 |
| 40mm | 1.30 |
| 50mm | 1.65 |
| 60mm | 2.00 |
| 70mm | 2.30 |
| 80mm | 2.65 |
| 90mm | 3.00 |
| 100mm | 3.30 |
Which thickness for EWI?
On a solid brick wall, 90mm to 100mm is the usual specification for a retrofit aiming at around 0.30 W/m²K, which is what most grant-funded and building control work is working to. Thinner boards from 20mm to 50mm are generally used for detailing — reveals, soffits and returns — where a full-thickness board will not fit. Send us the wall construction and the U-value you need and we will run the calculation, including condensation risk.
Fixing and the rest of the system
Boards are bonded with an adhesive such as Ceresit ZU or CT85 Flex using the perimeter and dab method, then mechanically fixed once the adhesive has cured. Rasp the boards flat before basecoating, bed alkali-resistant mesh into a 3-4mm layer of the same mortar, prime with CT16 and finish with a top coat such as Ceresit CT74 or CT174.
We stock the complete build-up — adhesive, boards, mesh, beads, fixings, primer and render — so the whole job arrives on one delivery rather than in pieces from three suppliers.
Specification
- Thermal conductivity: 0.030 W/mK
- Board size: 1200 x 600mm, 0.72m² per board
- Grey graphite-enhanced expanded polystyrene
- Rot-proof, flood-resistant and dimensionally stable
- Zero ODP, GWP ≤ 5
- 100% recyclable, with a Jablite off-cut collection service available
- Compatible with render and cladding systems
Grey EPS is sensitive to direct sunlight during installation — keep boards sheeted and do not leave them exposed on the scaffold longer than necessary, or you risk bowing.
Buying from Pinks
Pallet quantities at trade prices, next-day delivery across most of the UK, or collect from our trade counter in Crawshawbooth, Rossendale. Send us your elevation drawings or sizes and we will take off the full system — boards, adhesive, mesh, beads, fixings and render — and price it as one job.
