What is SuperQuilt Trade?

SuperQuilt Trade is a 2-in-1 multifoil insulation designed with tradespeople in mind. It combines insulation and a vapour control membrane in one flexible, lightweight roll. With 19 layers of reflective foil and wadding, it offers strong thermal performance while being easy to handle and fit.

Key Features

• Dual purpose: provides both insulation and vapour control

• Built-in “Kimble” design to hold layers together, preventing separation when cutting

• Thickness ~40 mm in relaxed state; can compress down during installation

• Approximately 19 layers of foil and wadding

• Zero fibre content: no harmful or itchy fibres when cutting or handling, reducing need for special PPE

• Effective radiant barrier: helps keep interiors warmer in winter, cooler in summer

Performance

• R-value up to ~2.84 m²K/W (equivalent to about 125mm of mineral wool) in typical wall or roof cavity use

• Good thermal performance even with modest cavity depth; compresses noticeably under fit

Applications & Benefits

• Ideal for roofs, walls, floors, ceilings — wherever space is limited but insulation performance is required

Limitations & Things To Consider

• Not certified for building control compliance in many cases — if a project requires meeting regulated U-values, the standard YBS SuperQuilt (or other certified materials) may be needed

• Best performance depends on maintaining air gaps or appropriate cavity sizes; compressing too much or eliminating gaps will reduce effectiveness
