K Rend HP12 Base Coat 25kg

Description

K Rend HP12 is a polymer modified, cement based base coat using high polymer technology for better adhesion and water resistance on difficult substrates. It is the one to reach for on dense block, unpainted render, brickwork and render carrier boards, and it works as a stipple or scud coat as well as a straight backing coat. Supplied in 25kg bags, in stock at our Rossendale trade counter.

Coverage

• 1.8kg per mm thickness per m²
• Approximately 6-9kg/m² at a nominal 4-6mm
• Roughly 3-4m² per 25kg bag at that thickness
• Up to 12mm thickness onto masonry substrates

Mixing and application

• Add 4-5 litres of clean water per 25kg sack
• Mix for at least 5 minutes to break down the additives
• Apply by hawk and trowel, or machine apply
• Rule off flat with a darby or straight edge, then scratch lightly to key for the next coat
• Allow 24 hours before applying the next coat unless advised otherwise
• Substrate temperature must be above 3°C and below 30°C. Avoid elevations in direct sunlight
• Alkali resistant reinforcing mesh is required at stress points such as door and window reveals

What it goes with

HP12 can be used under all K Rend finishes including Scraped Texture, Thin Coat, Dash, Roughcast and Brick Rend. On brickwork it should be used with K Rend R7 Primer. It can also be used as an insulation bedding adhesive for polystyrene boards onto masonry, with appropriate mechanical fixings.
